SEATTLE, WA – September 2, 2022 – Keller Williams Greater Seattle hosted their Battle of the Brokers event this summer for local real estate agents, where teams went head-to-head answering questions on the hottest industry topics. Taking inspiration from a 1970’s variety show theme, the market center transformed their training room into a game show studio complete with boxing ring, disco lights, funky music, and gold streamers. As costumed agents arrived, they assumed roles as fierce competitors or active members of the audience, filling the room with high energy, laughter, and knowledge — a welcomed setting during an increasingly shifting market.
Last hosted in 2019, Keller Williams Greater Seattle invited their reigning champions back to compete in the event, after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic. Two teams, made up of agents with varying experience levels, worked through timely categories racing to give their best answers before a panel of judges. For example, in the category of ‘Seller Questions’, teams were asked, “You are on a listing appointment and your seller says ‘I see that you’re based in Wallingford, but I think I need a Magnolia agent.’ How do you respond?” Points were awarded by judges John O’Brien, Associate Leadership Council (ALC) Education Chair; Meredith Hansen, Market Center Operating Principal; and a guest judge, a mega-team leader from another firm.
But Battle of the Brokers is much more than a fun event for realtors. Keller Williams Greater Seattle Team Leader Angie Mykel explained, “Agents love hearing how others do their job. The opportunity to listen in on top performers can be a challenge, and this game show simulates real-world scenarios in a controlled environment where we get to eavesdrop on the best in the business.” Talk about a win-win.
Moving forward, Battle of the Brokers will be an annual market center tradition so keep your eye out for 2023 dates. Who knows? You just might be the next person to take home the ultimate winner’s prize: bragging rights.
