I love our MVVBP (Mission, Vision, Values, Beliefs, Perspective)! Keller William stands apart because of our value system and ethics, very important to me and I love that we say GOD FAMILY BUSINESS as this is how I structure my life.

Why are DEI conversations important, especially in the real estate industry?

Because of the real estate industry’s past role in promoting unfair housing practices, I think it is essential that we are involved in the solution to remedying the effects of segregation in housing. We are the change we want to see in this industry and we have to lead out loud, proud and out front! Understanding that diversity and equity strengthen the communities we serve, creating equal access to neighborhoods, and fostering a real change that will impact the lives of families positively for years to come.

What can the KW Northwest Region look forward to in 2022?

Look forward to getting involved! We want to have actionable items available for each person, each leader, each market center to create equity opportunities for all. Let’s all commit to taking the classes, self reflection, learning about others with an open mind, valuing differences and seeking to serve and speak up for those who are not in a position to speak up for themselves.

It will require all of us to be “all in” if we’re going to achieve these goals!

I grew up farming and ranching and currently own a small irrigated farm. I have a passion for that lifestyle and understand the business of farming and ranching in detail. I am super excited to partner with KW leadership and for the opportunity to learn more and share the news with my local region and market center.

What opportunities should people within the Region be exploring in this community?

There are many large commercial farms in the Northwest, plus there is a wide variety of hobby farms and recreational opportunities. Agents should be educated in water rights, mineral rights, timber, and all the other things that go along with land. Even on a small transaction, it is good to understand these aspects of land representation. It’s just good business!

Meet Terri Hagen with Keller Williams West Sound! She’s representing the Keller Williams Northwest Region as an ambassador of the KW Military Community. 

Why are you excited to serve as an ambassador for KW Military?

I am a dedicated professional with a unique perspective and a deep commitment to serving those who’ve served our country. I’m the proud former partner of a Navy veteran who dedicated 20 years of service, retiring as a Sonar Chief. This journey has given me an intimate understanding of the sacrifices and challenges faced by military families.

I’ve personally navigated three deployments, one during our dating phase, another while I was pregnant, and the third just six days after a challenging C-section to welcome our son. These experiences have fueled my empathy for the unique struggles of military life, allowing me to connect with clients and agents who’ve served in a profound way.

In my previous role as a financial advisor, I discovered a passion for helping people build wealth. Recognizing the opportunities for military service members in leveraging housing allowances and VA entitlements for homeownership, I made the transition to real estate. Now, with about 80% of my clients being former military, veterans, or active-duty personnel, I find immense fulfillment in giving back to a community that has given so much to the country.

As a beacon of support in the real estate industry, I’m dedicated to empowering military service members who are Realtors to build a secure and prosperous future for themselves and their families by leveraging their connection the KW Military Community. It’s not just a profession for me; it’s a profound honor to make a positive impact on the lives of those who’ve served and sacrificed for our nation.

What opportunities should people within the Region be exploring in this community?

This is such a great opportunity to both leverage the amazing trainings and masterminds through the KW Military Community to create both retention and create a value proposition in recruiting. KW Military is the FASTEST growing community in all of Keller Williams, and they went from 3300 members last year to now reaching nearly 5500. Why is it growing so rapidly? Well, because of the VALUE of the training they are bringing to their members and the strong referral relationships being built. TL’s are always on the struggle bus to find relevant and valuable training for their market centers, and they can leverage the training already being offered by KW Military to stream in their market centers. The trainings span from conversation practice and objection handling, masterminds with top producing agents, book clubs and so much more. I even was able to reach out to a trusted KW Military member in another region to get a rockstar referral for a Veterans Service Officer who was highly effective and share that as a resource to my Veteran agents and clients.
On the recruiting side, KW Military provides the unique opportunity to recruit agents from other Brokerages who are interested in being a part of a national referral network, work within a community of agents who are formerly or currently affiliated with the military, and have training that specifically speaks to them and their clients they serve . The military community is a tight knit and strong brotherhood of people who are incredibly loyal, which is why agents with the KW Military affiliation seek out other agents who also affiliate. As an affiliate you can utilize the Command applet to determine where the inbound referrals are coming from and create a referral lead source with other KW Military partners in those regions to layer into your business. In addition, you will also be able to easily capture a referral and connect your clients with qualified agents who speak the LORE in the military community and know that your clients will be well taken care of by people who understand this unique community of Buyers and Sellers and all the challenges that they are faced with when PCSing.

Why are you excited to serve as an ambassador for KW Real Estate Planner?

Over the course of my lifetime I’ve learned that the best way for me to learn, grow and be accountable to others is by being in a leadership role. This capacity challenges me to not just know the materials, but also how to implement and communicate them in such a way that its easier for the person watching and coming behind me. Serving as the Regional Ambassador allows me so much opportunity to learn from the brightest minds in our area, grow in my leadership and communication styles, and serve others in a way that is meaningful and valuable to THEM. If, in the process I can inspire you and your business to greater heights, well, that’s just the icing on top of the cake.

What opportunities should people within the Region be exploring in this community?
 

I believe that each REP has to decide for themselves where their opportunity lays; which of the five pillars makes their heart “sing”. From there its about creating a 1-3-5 and 4-1-1- around it so that their passion for their market segment is evident to all. For me, my market segment is around Probate. It may not be for everyone, and that’s okay. This is where I can bring a high level of service, compassion, and professionalism to my clients. Ask yourself, of the five pillars which one gets my engine firing? Where can I make the most contribution and impact? Once you know the answer to this question, creating a plan of action becomes easier. Don’t try to be everything to everyone. Pick one or two segments, dive in deep so that yours is the only voice anyone hears, and GO FOR IT!
